About Us

Colour Blind Awareness Consulting is the leading global consultancy in colour blindness solutions and services.

Born principally to compound consultancy work undertaken by sister company and non-profit, Colour Blind Awareness CIC, we help businesses looking to take seriously their social responsibility & inclusion by championing the needs of colour blind individuals worldwide.

Where Colour Blind Awareness CIC remains the ascendant hub for colour blindness information (for colour blind individuals, those who suspect they might be affected, their families, teachers and more), Colour Blind Awareness Consulting serves the private sector, helping organisations harness the economic opportunities of colour blindness investment whilst simultaneously contributing positively towards a more inclusive and socially responsible world.

Our History

Colour Blind Awareness CIC was founded by Kathryn Albany-Ward in 2010 after she discovered that her son (then aged 7) was colour blind. Upon trying to research the condition, Kathryn struggled to find widespread and reliable information and quickly discovered how under-represented colour blind individuals, particularly children, are. Kathryn resolved to raise awareness across the population, starting first with education. This resulted in the establishment of Colour Blind Awareness CIC which, since its inception, has delivered impressive social change across education, sport and business spheres.

Following a successful career in real estate as a chartered surveyor and most recently 15 years experience in charitable campaigning, Kathryn founded Colour Blind Awareness Consulting to harness the power of markets and business in driving positive change. Since colour blindness affects customers, investors, employees, broadcasters, professional athletes and many other types of stakeholders, Colour Blind Awareness Consulting’s mission is to increase accessibility for the benefit of both colour blind individuals and organisations.

Kathryn’s hard work and dedication has been recognised in the Diversity Power List 2023.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is simple, to be champions for colour blind people worldwide. We aim to support intelligent businesses who want to better consider the needs of colour blind people across their value chain, externally for customers/other stakeholders and internally for employees.

Given the prominence of colour blindness across society (#1in12men #1in200women) we see unique opportunity for businesses to not only capitalise economically from colour blindness investment through marginal gains, but to contribute meaningfully towards lasting social sustainability change.
